Codes and Suggestions**
1) Only previous conference attendees who have completed
class studies of NAYRSA or NAYRSC may register for the clinics
and the workshop only.
2) Never attended either NAYRSA or NAYRSC class? Then,
you must register and attend NAYRSA or NAYRSC before you may attend
a clinic. Exception: You may attend the Horsewhispering Clinic
on May 1, however, you will be expected in class for NAYRSA (starts May
2) or NAYRSC on May 3.
3) First time attendees: Make a photocopy of your First Aid
and CPR certificates and bring them with you. If you have not taken
these courses through IHS, Red Cross, or some other qualified entity, then,
make arrangements to do so. First Aid and CPR are requirements to
complete the classes. Time will be allowed to complete these courses
following the conference. Previous attendees: File a fax copy
with the NARSI office ASAP. (Fax: 317-462-4277)
4) As soon as you arrive in Tucson, please set your watch.
Classes and clinics start on time. Please plan accordingly so other
attendees will not be interrupted by late arrivals.
5) Registration forms must be in the office by March 17th.
Payment
is due on or before April 1st
Hotel reservations at the Embassy Suites Tuscon Airport (520-573-0700
must be made by April 1st to receive the special room rate of $89.00 per
night + tax. This rate is for either a single or a double room and
it includes a "made to order breakfast" and afternoon refreshments each
day. To receive this rate make sure to give them the Special Code
- ARREC/NAREC.
6) Class room events include lunch, textbooks, study materials,
and refreshment breaks Clinics include either textbooks or videos.
The Horsewhispering Clinic also includes lunch and a skills application
ride.
7) Bring clothing appropriate for horseback riding - jeans and a
solid shoe with a heel. Golf clubs, tennis rackets, and bows and
arrows for the clinics will be provided . If, on your own time,
you plan to apply what you learn at the clinics, please bring your
own equipment. Make sure to mark tee shirt size on registration form.
8) The Conflict Resolution workshop is an essential course
for any one in a leadership position of any department. Coaching
requires the ability to resolve a variety of conflicts. This course
is considered an advanced study, however, it is open to all attendees.
The techniques can be applied within your own family.
9) There are a variety of hotels available in the airport area, however,
a full breakfast is included with the room rate at the Embassy Suites.
One of the valuable parts of the conference is networking with others.
If possible, it is recommended that you make your hotel arrangements at
the Embassy Suites Airport Hotel. Call 520-573-0700. Get special
rate by telling them you are with the ARREC/NAREC room block.
10) Transportation: The conference will be held at a
variety of locations within Tuscon. Attendees are responsible for
their own transportation to the various locations. Plan on renting
a car, or make arrangements to ride with a friend.
11) Make conference registration check payable to ARREC.
Mail to 1547 N State St., Greenfield, IN 46140. Plan ahead. The
form is due by March 17th. The check is due no later than April 1st.
Hand carrying registration and/or payment is not acceptable.
Books must be ordered weeks in advance.
